The Orange County Zoo’s admission is just $2.00 and the zoo focuses is on animals and plants native to the southwestern United States. Another fun treat is Centennial Farm, a 4-acre working farm with pigs, peacocks, cows at the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center. You’ll enjoy strolling though gardens of lush vegetation and the park is open to the public 7 days a week

To learn about Orange County’s rich history a visit to Mission San Juan Capistrano is a must. The Mission is a two hundred year old monument that offers tours through its 10 acres of gardens, fountains, and structures. Many shops and restaurants are near-by the mission for souvenirs. In Newport Beach, the Balboa Pavilion is one of California’s last surviving examples of the great waterfront recreational pavilions from the turn of the century. Built in 1905 by the Newport Bay Investment Company, it played a prominent role in the development of Newport Beach as a seaside recreation area. In 1906, it became the southern station for the Pacific Electric Railway connecting the beach with downtown Los Angeles.

For those who want to experience a little culture, there are plenty of museums and art galleries to choose from. Bowers Museum is one of Southern California’s finest museums and Orange County’s largest. It features world class exhibitions and collections and an 11,000 square foot children’s museum. The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace of our 37th President, is a nine acre library and birthplace and has a three-dimensional walk-through memoir featuring a 52,000 square foot museum and the restored 1910’s Nixon birthplace.
